The Requiem is a custom Quake 1 map made using Trenchbroom. The level is designed to fit the player experience of Quake 1 with a modern twist: the map evolving as the players progress through it. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating level blockouts and using them to validate and iterate on my design ideas

  • Scripting combat encounters and sequences

  • Environmental storytelling by using the right mixture of geometry, lighting and textures to convey the setting to the players

  • Coming up with creative ways to use the engine to modernize the gameplay of Quake

Palette Cleanser

Palette Cleanser is an Action-Adventure short experience that uses sliding as the main movement mechanic and focuses on exploration and using the slide to paint a desaturated garden. The game is intended to appeal to more casual audiences. 

The game is set to release 06/2025 on Steam

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating level blockouts

  • Created a modular level ingredient (spline tool) that eased up the blockout and set dressing process

  • Collaboration with environment artists to ensure the artistic vision is conveyed while the gameplay stays interesting

  • Playtesting and iteration

Lichgate

Rogue-like

Student Project

Lichgate is a twin-stick shooter-inspired rogue-like where you use magic to vanquish hordes of undead and prevent the Lichgate from opening. Lichgate was developed using our custom-made Coral Engine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing an endless procedural world by populating it with a mixture of procedurally generated terrain and hand crafted content to create varied and interesting gameplay scenarios

  • Oversaw the creation of the relevant tools needed to create the world of Lichgate in collaboration with the programmers

  • Extracting the maximum out of the tools and assets we had available

F1 Tokyo (Fortnite RR MOD)

Self-Study Project

F1 Tokyo is a custom made track in Ureal Editor for Fortnite. The track is designed for the Rocket Racing car. I made this track as a self-study project within a week.

My goals were to get familiar with UEFN and to make the track not only functional and fun for racing, but I also wanted to set dress the map using Fortnite assets to expand my worldbuilding skillset and get better at set dressing my levels and giving them the intended style and feeling.

AI sheep prototype

Student Project

As part of a concepting phase for a student project I made an exploratory sheep AI prototype to validate one of our concept ideas.

The sheep roams around, detects the player if gets too close, starts getting angry and when it gets very angry it charges at the player. The player can also press a button to taunt the sheep to charge at them immediately, and pickup and throw the sheep.

The prototype was scrapped as we chose to go in a different direction. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing the functionality of the sheep using behavior trees in Unreal Engine
